“THE JERSEY BOYS SHOWCASE”
Inspired by the spectacular Broadway production, The Jersey Boys, come to dance floor in one unforgettable night of dancing. The showcase is the joint venture of all the Fred Astaire Dance Studio’s of the Garden State. The show will include the pro/am solos performed by the professional staff and the students of Fred Astaire. The solos will feature unique choreography designed by Mr. Stephen Knight, the Fred Astaire National Dance Choreographer, and will be performed to the great music of the Broadway production. Furthermore, the showcase will feature performances by the New Jersey professional staff, choreographed by Mr. Bruno Collins. So far only a Labor day was a date to remember, now there is a new date, Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Bergen Tech School in Hackensack, NJ. November is a time of windy days, cold nights and the sign of fast approaching winter. Unlike the weather, the second weekend in November is red hot with dancing atmosphere. The biggest Fred Astaire Dance Competition in the Tri-state area comes to Mahwah, NJ. Professionals and amateurs from the area and the around the country gather to compete in this magnificent event.
If you never saw a dance competition, this is must not miss event. Come and see competitors of all different levels, starting with the amateurs. If you are an amateur competitor, this is a place to challenge yourself against other amateur competitors. Than we go to ever exciting Pro/Am divisions, see our professional instructors competing with their students. If you are a seasonal Pro/am competitor or never competed, this is the one to make your mark in the dancing world. And at last, we come to Professional ranks, come and see Professional competitors from around the country competing against each other for supremacy in their respected divisions. It truly going to be a weekend of great competitive atmosphere. Dancing is not all about competing and proofing yourself against others.
